Make Money With Your Recording Hobby

If you are a sound recording enthusiast, there are probably some ways to make some extra cash with your interest. With a properly soundproofed studio, you can be producing music for people who need high quality but inexpensive work done. There are many great recording studios out there, but most people cannot afford to spend the money to record there.

This creates a market for smaller studios. Some people just want to get some experience being recorded and might just want to do so for the sake of practice and hearing themselves play in an objective sense. They will pay a small fee to record with someone who knows what they are doing but does not have the equipment and experience to charge top dollar.

Knowing that there are things you can do to make some extra money, how do you go about connecting with this enlarging market? One of the best ways is to make a quick webpage advertising what you can do on a site like the local services directory. This will enable the people in your local area to look you up and get started.

Of course, recording people in this fashion is just one thing you can do. Once you have some decent equipment and capabilities in any discipline it is simply a matter of some entrepreneurial thinking before you start making money with it.

Site for Music Producers

Anybody out there interested in soundproofing may be a music producer, so I though it would be smart to just give a heads up about a great site that I've found. Legal free use music can be uploaded to this site and then anyone who is working on a film or something can download it. The only thing they need to do to be able to use the music is to credit the artist who made it within the work they create.

Sites like this work to help musicians promote their music and get it heard by more people, which is something a lot of us are in need of. Hopefully this site will help you to soundproof your room and get things ready to produce music, and then these other sites can help you promote and distribute it.

Music is still finding its way in the new world of the internet, but we are seeing more and more opportunities for people to independently sell their stuff which should be good for all of us.

Soundproofing for Film Watching

People who enjoy watching films will know how important it is to have good sound, and that at certain points, you need to experience the loud sounds of an explosion or other such effect to really get the full picture. This means that if you have anyone living near you, you will need some room soundproofing in order to get on.

You won't be able to fully form your opinions on film unless you can experience them as they are meant to be. So in order to do this, we should talk about a few easy ways to contain the sound in any film watching room.

The first thing to consider is controlling the directional sound. All sound above a certain frequency will be directional, meaning it will mostly travel in the general direction the speakers are pointing. Lower sounds have lower frequencies which make them non directional. You can limit the amount of sound that goes into neighbors homes or rooms by simply making sure your speakers are not pointing at them. This will only do so much of course, but it is a good start.

Another easy thing you can do is to make sure that you have anything like beds or sofa chairs in the corners of the room, as that will cut down on the bass that tends to gather there. This should help with the sound both inside the room and cut down on what goes through your walls.

Some sort of pads to life your speakers off of the surface they are on can also be helpful. There are professional ones you can buy for not too much money but you can also try to fashion ones yourself. This, again, improves sound for you and cuts down on that which gets out. I will write some more on this subject another time, but this is enough to get started.
